Equipping community leaders to deliver healing and hope to traumatized children

We show communities in developing nations how to create safe nurturing environments where children can heal, grow and thrive.

Through our Jacaranda program, we train child workers and parents to help children recover from the impact of chronic, complex trauma.

Over the past 15 years, this work has reached more than 25 communities across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. More than 1,000 adults have been trained, and over 1,300 children reached through Jacaranda Communities of Hope.

Our Vision is for a world in which every traumatized child is healed and has hope for the future.

Our Mission is to equip community leaders to offer healing and hope to traumatized children wherever they are found around the globe.

Get involved

The Jacaranda training program is the beginning of trauma recovery, not only for the children it reaches, but also for the adults who care for them. Grounded in psychological theory and research, our approach uses therapeutic play, story-telling and the safety of community to build resilience and self-regulation into children’s lives.

Every program begins with an invitation from local partners who understand the unique needs of children and families in their community and are committed to supporting lasting healing and resilience.
